Deputy Commissioner
Food and Drug Administration

Dear Dr. Crawford:
We need your help, urgently.
We are dairy producers in California. We care deeply about the animals that allow us to make a living. We also care about making sure the milk that we - and thousands of other dairy producers in the United States - produce is safe and healthy. And, we care what Americans think when they go to the grocery store to buy milk.
Unfortunately, current marketing and labeling practices in California violate the law and no one seems to care. As California dairy producers who have invested significant resources and worked hard to adhere to federal and state production and marketing regulations, we feel compelled to seek your assistance and intervention with the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) on an issue of importance to both dairy farmers and consumers - the misleading marketing and labeling of milk.
